The Founder
Miriam Macharia
B.I.M was founded by Miriam Macharia, who heard and obeyed the call of God at an early age. After being moved by the suffering experienced by orphaned children, she promised God that one day she would provide for her neighbors in need. In 1995, she began helping three children in need in her village.
In 2004, she was led to form Bethel International Ministries (BIM) after more than 10 years of personally feeding and clothing needy children in her native village of Nakuru, Kenya. This area has many children orphaned by the ravages of AIDS, poverty and civil strife.
In order to prepare these children to be the next generation of Kenyan leaders, Miriam knew that providing medication, tuition and school supplies should be added to BIM’s mission. With the contributions generously provided through BIM, she has seen the number of children supported increasing, and hope restored to the villagers of Nakuru.

The History
In 2004, Kenyan Miriam Macharia, living in Houston, Texas, was called by God to create an organization to raise money to assist the orphans in her native village of Nakuru, Kenya. She had been feeding and clothing many of them personally for ten years and the time had come for multiplication of her provision.
Thus far, many children have been fed, clothed, received medical assistance, and School tuitions paid under the Bethel umbrella.
The Children
In Africa, when a child loses their parents, becoming orphaned, there are no government programs to help that child in any way. No welfare, no foster care, no assistance or food stamps.
The child is left alone to beg for food and has very little hope for any type of future. They are truly the poorest of the poor. The BIM children range in age from 3 to 18, and, most have lost their parents to AIDS or AIDS related illness. The children come from 'Western' and' Nyanza' provinces in Kenya, and most show with up with nothing, sometimes not even a history.
Bethel International Ministries is a Non-Profit 501(C)3 Organization and dedicated to giving a smile to a hungry child for a better tomorrow by provinding food, tuition fee, medical services, clothings, guidance and counselling.
